SOUTHWEST BAGGAGE POLICY



CARRY-ON BAGGAGE POLICY 

  • Southwest Airlines allows its passengers one carry-on bag and one personal item (laptop bag, purse, briefcase, etc.)
  • Carry-on should not exceed 50 linear inches (24*16*10) including handles and wheels.
  • Personal item and the carry-on bag should fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.

CHECKED-BAGGAGE POLICY 

  • Southwest Airlines allows passengers to carry 2 standard bags, up to 10 maximum bags.
  • The maximum dimension of checked baggage should be 62 inches or 157 cms.
  • Weight of checked baggage should not exceed 50 pounds or 23 kg.

BAGGAGE FEE 


EXCESS BAGGAGE 

  •  A fee may apply if a passenger wants to check more than 2 bags. You can carry two checked bags for free.
  • Customers have to pay an extra fee of $75 for the third bag or any extra bag.

OVERWEIGHT BAGGAGE 


  • $75 extra fee will be charged for bag weighing between 51-100 pounds or 24-46 kg.
  • Bags exceeding 100 pounds will not be accepted as a checked/ hold baggage.

OVERSIZE BAGGAGE


  • Southwest Airlines will charge an extra fee of $75 for the bags that are from 63-115 linear inches.
  • Bags greater than 115 linear inches will not be accepted as checked/ hold baggage.
